Splish Splash

Ashlynn loves bath time. And let's be honest...what kid doesn't love to play around in the water?

Ashlynn's been battling some sickness the past few weeks. Had a rattling cough that lasted over 2 weeks, so I took her to urgent care. Negative for RSV but found she had an ear infection. They put her on augmentin (aka the worst antibiotic ever). 10 days, twice a day and she hated the taste so taking it was a chore. Oh, and to top it off, it gave her a yeast infection. Soooo not fun for a 1-year-old. Friday it seemed like her cough got worse, so we took her back in. Still negative for RSV, ear infection had cleared but they did a chest x-ray and saw "some matter" in her lung. Not confirmed as pneumonia, but they wanted to treat it with the z-pack. She seems to be more herself this week, so hoping after Wednesday's dose that her cough is close to done and that we're completely done with meds for a while.

In the meantime, bath time always cheers her up :)

Home Sweet Home

We went up to my parents' place a couple weekends ago (yes, I'm weeks behind on my blogging...lamesauce) and spent a few days there. As always, it was relaxing, comforting and peaceful. No agenda, plenty of good food, a few intense games of cribbage and great conversations. Ashlynn loved the walks, playing with the "old school" toys from when I was a kiddo and getting lots of lovin' from Grandma and Grandpa.

Didn't get too many pictures, but it was a fun weekend at home - thanks for having us, Mom and Dad!

Project 52 - Week 3

Circle.

It didn't take long for something to come to mind for the Project 52 word this week. I work in marketing and PR at a car dealership, so I see tires every.single.day. They're everywhere you look, whether it be in the showroom, on the lot, back in service, over at powersports on an ATV...they're everywhere. And this tire display that the customs department has set up right now is very "pimp my ride" worthy.

Teeth Suck.

I'm really not a fan of this whole teething thing. I didn't think much of it when Ashlynn got her first four teeth since it didn't seem to affect her at all. Score. But now she's working on a couple new top ones, and boy has it been a battle this past week. We've had some middle-of-the-night cry sessions, which is extremely odd for a girl who's been sleeping sound for 10-12 hours a night. Only thing that consoles her during these 1-hour spats is walking around and singing, "I am Jesus Little Lamb." Surprising, since her momma doesn't really have the voice of an angel. But, whatever works. Jeremy opts for the big bear hug cuddling, which she also likes, but I'm pushing him to sing since his voice is a step or five better than mine.

Last night I noticed that one of the little buggers finally cut through, so hopefully she gets a break soon. Until then, I'll continue to serenade.

"I hate getting teeth."
