31 Weeks and Counting

Hard to believe we're in the "30's" already. Still about 2 months away which feels like a while, but then when we start thinking about plans for upcoming weekends, holidays, etc., December 26 is really just right around the corner. Yikes! So ready to meet this little peanut, but still a lot of prep work I'd love to have done before his/her arrival. And when I say "prep work", I mean a "honey do" list for Jeremy post-harvest that I'm sure he's looking forward to. Riiiight. But we really do need to finish off the baby room closet, laundry room closet so I can move/store things currently in the way, trim and paint bedroom doors (original doors, but there was never carpet before us so they don't open/close right now) and a few other random projects that require power tools, so playing it safe and waiting for my hubby to do them.

Here we are at 31 weeks...


I also went to a breastfeeding class at ISJ last Tuesday from 6-9pm. Though I've got some good insight and info from my mommy friends, the class was definitely helpful. And it really wasn't all that bad...my gauge of that was the fact that it didn't even seem to be 3 hours long. No, I didn't make Jeremy go with. For one, they were still full swing in harvest, and for two, I'm not sure he would've fully enjoyed it. About half the moms had their men with, other half were riding solo with me. At times it was a little bit of information overload, but I know I'll learn it as we go. Also made me realize that breastfeeding/pumping is going to require patience, work and time, but I'm ready to give it a shot. Aaaaand I really hope we have a "good" baby :)

November 19/20 is our evening and then full day child birth class. I'm sure Jeremy is mentally preparing already. Tomorrow I have another doc appt, since I go every two weeks. Might as well start a paper chain countdown!

As I mentioned, harvest has been going really well this year. Great weather for getting the crops out and great weather for tagging along to take some pictures.

GB and DC

This past weekend three girlfriends and I went to visit our great friend Bibs who now lives in Green Bay. Yes, folks, she's a Minnesotan who's gone to the dark side of cheeseheads and Packer fans. The unspeakable, but I forgive her. All of us girls went to UW-RF and they're who I lived with in St. Paul after college (minus Rachel, but she was an honorary roomie). We've shared a lot of great memories together and continue to as we get older and all move apart, too. Truly amazing friends!

We had a wonderful long weekend in GB, including lots of wine (Bibs even gave me my own special bottle of NA red wine), cooking, a morning workout, a day trip to Door County, cheesecurds (what WI trip would be complete without?), lots of talking and some good late-night stories/laughs. A perfect girls weekend.

29 Weeks

Officially in the third trimester and starting the home stretch. Had my monthly doc appointment this morning, and everything is looking good. A few notes...

- Baby W weighs 3lbs 2oz
- We're in the 55th percentile on size...this is up from last appt's 48th or whatever it was. You can about imagine Jeremy's excitement. Dr. Larson said if we get past 75th or anything real high, Jeremy can go through labor for me. Thank you, Dr. Larson.
- Most body measurements showed about 29 weeks, so right on track. The head measurements were about 31 weeks...I'm envisioning a bobble head.
- Heartrate was 139 bpm
- Did my glucose test and should hear the results on that soon
- Appointments are every 2 weeks now
- My doc informed me that he was on duty this year for the holidays, so he'll be on call versus the other docs. Great news for me...I really like Larry and it would be nice to have him deliver since this is my first.

All in all, still feeling good and don't really have any complaints. I can definitely tell the baby is starting a good growth spurt because my skin has been real itchy and I've had a consistent burning feeling on the top of my stomach and in my back from the growth. That, and kicks are now becoming jabs and bigger, visibly noticeable movements. All good signs, though!

Harvest Y'all

The beans are out and we're on to corn, people. According to my hubby, I shouldn't try to talk about farming. Guess I don't have all the lingo down, but I'm still learning...baby steps.

This past weekend the guys got a good start on combining corn - the weather's been perfect, the corn is dry and they've been busy! To be able to see Jeremy for more than the 8 hours we sleep together at night, I try to ride with him when I can. Yesterday evening I spent a few hours in the semi and tractor while we were running loads to the grain bins. Though fall is a busy time, I love harvest. It was absolutely beautiful out and I love to see how the whole process goes every year. Not to mention, Jer and I get some QT together in the tractor...seriously. I haven't taken any pictures yet (wish I would've last night - it was perfect out), but I will next time I go with. I always seem to see really interesting photo opps when I'm out there.

And on another note about yesterday...my great friend Erin got engaged! Dave proposed on their way back from a weekend in Lutsen, and I was so pumped when she called with the news. I had a perma-smile on from the time of her phone call until I could rush to tell the news to Jeremy and until I thought about it again in the evening. So incredibly happy for these two - both great friends and I couldn't think of better people for each other for so many reasons. Congrats guys!

Introducing Emily Jo Cloeter

My brother Jeff and sister-in-law Bobbi welcomed their third child yesterday morning...Emily Jo Cloeter! I couldn't be more excited and happy for all of them. I only wish I could be down in St. Louis right now to see Bella and Joshua's reaction to a new baby sister, and hold little Emily. Makes me excited for December when Baby W arrives...it'll be their first cousin!

Jeff and Bobbi are blessed with another beautiful baby, and Emily is blessed with two amazing parents. Jeremy and I have some great role models.
