Party Time

Ashlynn's first birthday was last Tuesday, and the three of us kept it pretty low-key by having a birthday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Wolff and just some time at home as our little family. We also sent some cupcakes to daycare that day, and the kids had a party for her.

But the big celebrating was this past Saturday when she had two parties packed into one day. Nothing like hitting it hard for a day of playing and sugar highs!

We first had a party for Ashlynn at our home with my family (missing my older brother and his family in St. Louis and the Grandmas) and some of my girlfriends, aka her "aunties." I had big intentions of making all my own decorations and had a vision for it (thanks, Pinterest), but instead went with the Hobby Lobby 1st birthday decor. Once I put it all up, I was pretty pleased with it. We ate lunch, opened gifts and enjoyed cupcakes beautifully decorated by Rachel. The birthday girl was in heaven with such good family and friends around her, singing Happy Birthday to her and shoveling in the cake and frosting. She loved it so much, she got two cupcakes.

For the evening, we went over to my in-laws for a joint birthday party for Ashlynn, our nephew Maddex (5 days younger than Ashlynn) and our nephew Jaxon (1 year older than both of them), since all their birthdays are in January. Such a fun time with family...and after that party, Ashlynn slept reeeeeal good for the night.
