17 Months and Pictures

Ashlynn is 17 months and is busy as a bee (or whatever type of creature is super busy...that's her). Time for a snapshot of our little girl and, best of all, actual snapshots of her courtesy of my good friend Christy and her amazing photog skills with her business Christy Bode Photography. I have to admit that I was a little nervous to have Ashlynn's pictures taken because she's so.freaking.busy that she never sits, and if she does it's for no more than 5 seconds. So I was hoping for just one good picture out of the bunch, and Christy blew me away. She truly captured the essence of our little girl at this stage - smiles, scowls, giggles, kissy lips, curiosity, a little attitude and a lot of movement. A HUGE thank you to Christy for these beautiful images that seriously melted my heart as I opened each of them.

Okay, Ashlynn at 17 months:
- Have I mentioned she's always on the move? Now it's always on the run.
- Running at age 1 = a lot of scuffed knees.
- Is obsessed with one particular DVD and nothing else when it comes to the TV - Nursery Rhymes. It's about 20 minutes of the classics with matching real life footage and some cartoons. She's obsessed. Obsessed as in when the FBI warning comes on, she starts clapping her hands and saying "yeeeeaaaa!" At least it's Nursery Rhymes and not Real Housewives of OC, right?
- Has a love for the water - the bath tub, sprinklers/squirt guns, the lake and even the watering cans by the garden. I think we're going to sign up for a session at the Y for swim lessons in July. She'll think we're the best parents ever.
- Vocab still growing. Now we've added please, thank you, love you, cheese, night night, apple, amen and a few others on top of her regular mama, dada, puppy, etc.
- Is often referred to as "Asheee" at daycare by some of the younger kids who can't quite spit out the "lynn."
- Still sleeping and eating like a champ.
- Working on some more top big teeth off and on...currently dealing with a lot of poops and a runny nose. The perfect accompaniment to her back molar coming in.
- Forget safety, she's all about going up and down stairs face forward - no more crawling or going down backwards. But she knows to hold a railing, wall and/or our hands. Homegirl makes me nervous, but she seems to be just fine. Why is she growing up so fast?!

And now the goods...Ashlynn's escapade of running around outside while Christy captured these beauts:

So adorable! Love the updates. It's crazy how much she's doing now. I love that "cheese" is in her vocab :)
