4th of July Swim

Wow am I behind on blogging or what?! Might as well catch up on what's most recent for now...

We celebrated the 4th as our family of 3 (going on 4) for the day, which was perfect. Jeremy worked in the morning (which is probably a big part of why I've been MIA in blogging...an overworked husband doing physical barn and building demolition day in-and-out makes for a busy and tired single prego mommy on the homefront), we grabbed lunch and then headed to the Waseca Waterpark.

When it's 95 degrees, sunny and just uncomfortable hot, what better way to spend the day than at the pool. Splash park areas, large pool, slides, music, ice cream sandwiches and toys...Ashlynn was in heaven. And go figure, Miss Independent didn't even care for her toys, her floatie or walking in the shallow end after half an hour of arrival. She was only interested in having Dad help her swim like a big girl or climb on the pool deck to jump into his arms, over and over and over again. She definitely loves the water! I called her a little fish, and Jeremy corrrected me - a little log. She was all about keeping her arms and legs super straight as Jeremy held her tummy with one hand to float along. He'd tell her to kick, she'd kick for about 20 seconds and then just float straight-bodied. Her face exuded pure joy and pride at her new skill...so fun to watch!
