19 Months

I haven't been very good about posting exact monthly updates on Ashlynn now that she's getting older, so this is going to serve as her 18/19 month update (they mesh together, right?). She had her 18-mo check up on the 16th, and she'll be 19 months this Friday. Here are a few updates on our growing machine!

- 35 in. (99th percentile for height)
- 25 lbs. 9 oz. (67th percentile for weight)
- Vocab: this is the biggest change we continue to notice. She's catching onto songs and will just sing some randomly on her own, she's doing more two-word phrases and she can repeat most of what we tell her to say, which is dangerous because Jer and I sometimes have a little too much fun with it. In addition to her last expansion, some favorites and regulars include...here we go, excuse me (says it when she burps...I die), hi cows, bye cows (jeez, I wonder where we live), one two three, blue, red, yellow, sit down (often telling this to our dog Kenna), treats (for when she wants to give Kenna a treat...Kenna looooves Ashlynn), I see, fruit snacks (says it "fruit nack"), bubbles, oh noooo, hi oh (her version of "oh yeaaah"), Suess (as in the Dr.) and responses to "what does a ___ say?" for many animals. Songs she loves to sing and/or dance to include ABCs, Old McDonald (never misses an eieio), The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Ring Around the Rosey, Eat Apples and Bananas, and the Clean Up Song.
- Ashlynn's been adding to her repertoire of dance moves these days. I can't describe them in words, but can only show you in video. I don't have a new one right now but will work on it for your viewing entertainment in an upcoming post.
- Has a soft spot in her heart for Elmo and Mickey.
- Thoroughly enjoys brushing her teeth, aka sucking on the apple flavored kids' toothpaste.
- Full of trial and error. Any cap, cover, door, light switch, whatever, she wants to do it herself. This sometimes results in spilled bottles of Gatorade, boxes of toys, etc., but it's fun to watch her try and get the hang of things.
- Food favorites: "fruit nacks", actual fruit of any kind, peas, pickles (especially homemade ones), Greek yogurt, most all kinds of meat
- Repetition, repetition, repetition. Once she figures something out or likes something, she'll do it over and over and over again. Books, going down the slide, puzzles, even moving all her toys from one side of the room to the other, and then back. And over again, and back. You get the idea.
- Ashlynn's a love bug who's generous with her affection. We can't get enough of her hugs, kisses, kisses for the baby (my tummy), "love you's" and non-stop giggles (even if they're fake...who knew a 1-year-old could fake their laugh? Eh well, makes me feel funnier than I probably am).

Our little island girl...
in her outfit from G&G Wolff they got on their trip to St. Thomas this past winter

Other than the fact that Jer and my brother John about died of laughter when they saw her walk out of the house, it was a cool and lightweight outfit for the hot summer day. And she sported it well, belly and all :)

Helping Dadda at the barns

Favorite evening activing - getting the mail with Dadda and Kenna

Favorite shoes - her sparkly Toms. Can you blame her?

Always interested in what Dad's working on

Break time for a snack at Como Zoo with Bella

Train ride at Como Zoo with Em and Grandma Nan...she doesn't look too enthused, but she loved the ride and cried when it was time to get off!

Cloeter Fam (minus John who was traveling for work) at Como Zoo

Our neighbors gave us this Little Tikes play set since they're kids are long done with it.
Perfect hand-me-down...Ashlynn loves it!

Chatting up a storm

This is how Kenna and I usually feel after a day of running around with Ashlynn
