7.5

When Ashlynn was at my parents last weekend, I asked my mom, "well, how did she sleep at night?" Mostly wanting to know to make sure Ashlynn didn't decide to pull a funny and keep my parents up all night. Not that I think she would since she has always seemed to have her days and nights in check, but you never know. My mom responded, "I almost hate to tell you." Great, she was up every 2 hours and now I feel terrible. Actually, quite the opposite. The sleeping beauty slept more than 7 hours both nights there. And now I was kind of ticked. Why won't she do that for me? She would sleep about 5 hours, get up around 3am to eat and then sleep until we took her to daycare. Not a big deal at all getting up once, but wow a full night of sleep would be a-w-e-s-o-m-e, for all of us.

So I crossed my fingers on Sunday night, hoping this wasn't some magical thing she did for grandma and grandpa, and play a dirty trick on her parents. I'm not ready for that yet at age 4 months. Well folks, she's slept anywhere from 7 to 8 hours the last three nights. I might be jinxing it by blogging about it, but this deserves a celebration. I think she may be going through a growth spurt because the one night she took a 4 hour nap after daycare, got up to eat and went right back down for 7 hours for the night. Craziness, I tell you. But no complaints here...being a parent makes you realize that sleep is a precious, precious thing.

Our sleeping beauty, apparently in deep thought

Aw, she really does look like she is having a think doesn't she! I hope any babies I have sleep through the night the moment I bring them home!

I hear you, every night I prepare myself, we could be back to every 3 hours (or worse), but, knock on wood...it's been at least 7 hours the last two nights for us, too.

oh, I can't wait for that! She sleeps for 5 hours then 3 which is ok, but not when I am going back to work next week. Ashlynn is adorable. We will have to get them together sometime soon.
