The first big event was my good friend Erin's first bridal shower on Saturday. Her wedding is in October, and this shower was hosted by family and friends on her fiance David's side. He's from Neenah, which is just outside of Green Bay. Such a charming little town, and we had a fun time meeting people from his old stomping grounds.
The bride-to-be

They had amazing Mexican food (Can you say Sangria?! Perfect before race day, right?); headbands for the bride, bridesmaids and mothers; and a clever little puzzle game out of pictures of Erin and David. Top it off with good laughs and great gifts for the bride, and it was a fun shower.
Yum...I love me some Mexican food

Our team's puzzle...complete

I was so mad that we lost the puzzle competition, but we seriously had the hardest one out of all the groups. Listen to me and my competitive excuses.

Adorable clutch Rach made for Erin to use on her wedding day...complete with the teal color of her wedding. Open your eyes, Rach!

If you know me and my friends, you know we like to randomly throw out "your mom..." in front of a lot of phrases. Maybe a little too much. Aaaand maybe it's mostly me that does it. Ever since Napolean Dynamite said "your mom goes to college", it just stuck. Well, now Erin will never be able cook without thinking of us girls thanks to this apron. By the way, your mom likes aprons.

Erin and her mother-in-law-to-be Mary Jo and her mom Jayne - beautiful women!

Randi - one of Erin's best friends growing up

Erin and her bridesmaids (minus one...Mel, her matron of honor!) sporting matching head pieces

We took a number of pictures like this and this was the best one I had, considering Erin's mom was in the background cracking some great one-liners

Such a fun afternoon! Another post to come on the race...
