It was our good family friend's wedding, so we got to spend some time with our regular crowd from when we lived there. Wonderful to see everyone...parents all there, and almost all the kids made the trip back! The groom's dinner was at our friends' home (parents of the groom), the wedding was outside at a beautiful B&B and the reception was at one of the local ski resorts, Blackjack.
And in between wedding festivities, we went did a few touristy things to show Jeremy the area and for us to remember the sights, too. We went to Black River Harbor at Lake Superior, rode up to Copper Peak (a competitive downhill ski jump), climbed one of the bluffs in town, ate Pastys (a UP fav...meat, potatoes, onions baked inside a calzone-like pastry) and visited the 3 ski resorts in town (we stayed at a house on one of them for the weekend). Hard to believe that John and I hadn't been back since a trip in 2003! We'd love to visit sometime in the winter to enjoy all the snow and do some skiing/snowboarding.
